BJP leader Tomar alleged, “Congress had promised to waive off the loans of farmers in Madhya Pradesh, but after coming to power in 2018, it did not do so and stopped many welfare schemes.

Addressing a public meeting in support of BJP candidate and minister Om Prakash Saklecha in Jat village under Javad assembly constituency, Tomar said that Congress has always done injustice to the poor, while BJP has always taken care of them.

The Union Minister claimed that in the nine years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government, 14 crore people have come out of poverty in the country, whereas in Madhya Pradesh this number is 1.39 crore. Referring to the deposit of Rs 1250 in the accounts of women under the ‘Laadli Brahmin Yojana’ of the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh, he said that Congress is not able to digest this success and is raising questions on the scheme.

Tomar said that after the elections this amount will be increased to Rs 3,000. He said that to protect the honor of farmers, the government is giving them Rs 12,000 (annually) through central and state government schemes.

Later, at a gathering of first-time voters in Mandsaur, Tomar said he was born after 2003 and hence would not have known about the electricity, water status and condition of roads before that.

BJP had removed Congress from power in the state in 2003.

The Union Minister said that at that time Madhya Pradesh was considered a ‘Bimaru’ (backward) state, but due to several measures taken during the BJP rule, there was a lot of development in the state.
