Biden said US companies announced investments of more than US$500 billion to lay new undersea cables in APEC economies, ‘decarbonize’ the energy grid and complete the largest US airline expansion in history in the South Pacific Is.

Biden said, ‘Together with APEC’s 13 partners, we have also made historic progress on the Indo-Pacific economic framework with a first-of-its-kind agreement to strengthen supply chains, accelerate our clean energy transition, and tackle corruption. “

He highlighted some areas where he believed APEC could do more.

She said partners in the initiative have already committed more than US$900 million to increase women’s participation in green industries such as forest management, clean energy, fisheries and recycling.

Biden said he and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping briefly discussed the impact of artificial intelligence and how to work on it.

“Together, we must ensure that change is for the better,” he said. We must ensure that digital technologies like artificial intelligence are used not to limit the potential of our people, but to uplift them.”
