Army Chief General Pandey leaves on official visit to Republic of Korea


New Delhi, November 19 (Language) Army Chief General Manoj Pandey left on an official visit to the Republic of Korea on Sunday. The officers provided this information.

General Pandey’s visit is aimed at further strengthening the “strong defense ties” between the two countries.

Officials said that during his visit, General Pandey will hold a bilateral meeting with his South Korean counterpart and pay homage to the martyred soldiers at the war memorial.

In this regard, a senior officer said, “General Pandey left for the Republic of Korea today on an official visit.” The objective of this visit is to further strengthen the strong defense relations between the two countries.

Officials said the visit will begin on November 20, an important day in the history of India-South Korea relations. 60 Para Field Ambulances of the Indian Army landed at Busan, South Korea on 20 November 1950 to provide essential medical aid during the Korean War.

The Indian Army Chief’s itinerary includes interactions with senior military officials of the Republic of Korea and visits to defense formations and establishments.
