Assam minister Atul Bora received death threats, CID got the responsibility of investigation.


Guwahati, November 14 (Language) Assam Minister Atul Bora has received death threats through social media and the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has been asked to register a case in this regard and start investigation. Director General of Police GP Singh gave this information on Tuesday.

Bora, the Agriculture and Assam Accord Implementation Minister, is also the chief of the Assam Gana Parishad (AGP), an ally of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led coalition government in the state.

DGP wrote on the social media platform

The alleged threat to have a bomb in his house was made in the comments section of the Facebook page of a local news portal.

While making the comment, a person named Pranaash Sandhilya claimed that he is a part of militant organization ULFA. Police are trying to confirm his identity.

“Any such threat against elected representatives will not be acceptable as it jeopardizes democratic politics,” the DGP said.
