Avaya to grow Indian workforce by 20 percent in a year: CEO |


New Delhi, November 13 (Language) Unified communications company Avaya is planning to increase the Indian workforce by 20 percent in the next one year. A senior official of the company gave this information.

Avaya Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Alan Masarek told PTI, “One-third of the company’s global engineering workforce is in India, engaged in core development work.”

He said, “At the beginning of the summer I said that we would increase India’s workforce by 20 percent and we have already made these recruitments. We had 1,200 employees in India in June and now they have more than 1,500. “In the next year we will continue to grow by 20 per cent…this will happen at every level.”

“The company is looking to hire data scientists and engineers with expertise in artificial intelligence (AI),” Masarek said.
