Washington, November 10 (AP) US President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping will hold a meeting in California on Wednesday to talk about trade, Taiwan and Washington-Beijing relations.
This will be the first meeting between the leaders of the world’s two largest economies in nearly a year.
The White House has said that it was anticipated for several weeks that Biden and Xi would meet on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Conference (APEC) in San Francisco.
White House press secretary Karen Jean-Pierre said in a statement that the two leaders emphasized the importance of maintaining open lines of communication, managing competition responsibly and working together to address common interests, particularly challenges that impact the international community. Will discuss on doing.
China’s Foreign Ministry said on Friday that at the invitation of the US, Xi will attend APEC from Tuesday to November 17 and participate in the US-China summit.
Two senior Biden administration officials said the two leaders would meet in the San Francisco Bay area, but declined to provide further details due to security concerns.
