Jaunpur (UP) November 12 (Language) In Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh, the son of a councilor and the operator of a coaching center was shot dead by unknown people. A senior police officer gave this information on Sunday.
The officer said that the incident took place near an Inter College in Kajgaon under Zafarabad police station area.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Ajay Pal Sharma said that Ajay Maurya (29), son of Kajgaon Nagar Panchayat councilor Alok Maurya, used to run a coaching center in SNV Inter College and used to stay there at night.
He told that on Saturday, between 2 and 3 o’clock on the night of Chhoti Diwali, some miscreants came, shot Ajay dead and ran away.
He said that the family members came to know about this on Sunday morning and they informed the police.
Police reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem and registered a case under relevant sections.
He said that the police has started searching for the killers.
