Death toll due to suspected poisonous liquor in Haryana reaches seven


Chandigarh, November 9 (Language) One person died on Thursday due to suspected poisonous liquor in Yamunanagar district of Haryana. So far seven people have died in this incident. Police gave this information.

Police said that the deceased were residents of two villages in the district. Police have arrested seven people in the case. Two others have been arrested for illegally manufacturing liquor in neighboring Ambala.

Yamunanagar Superintendent of Police (SP) Ganga Ram Punia told PTI over phone, “Seven people have died in the suspected poisonous liquor case. The person who died today was admitted to the hospital. He drank alcohol on November 7.

Asked about the source of the suspected spurious liquor, Punia said, “Preliminary investigation has revealed that it was manufactured illegally.” A separate FIR has been registered in this regard in Mulana area of ​​Ambala district.

SP said that seven accused have been arrested in the case. He said that two of them are local people, who are illegal vendors and the rest are associated with illegal vendors.

The SP said most of the deceased were 45 years of age or older, while two were below 30 years of age.

Mullana police station inspector Surendra of Ambala district said that two people have been arrested for illegally manufacturing liquor.

Surendra said that he had supplied this liquor in Yamunanagar district and the matter is being investigated.

Earlier on Wednesday, Yamunanagar SP Punia had said that he had received information from a hospital about the death due to suspected poisonous liquor.
