Eknath Shinde, the leader of the rebel Shiv Sena, was sworn in as the new chief minister of Maharashtra, while Devendra Fadnavis assumed the position of deputy chief minister. The governor of Maharashtra has ordered Chief Minister Shinde to show that his government has a majority in the state parliament tomorrow. Yesterday, the new government’s first cabinet meeting was called by Chief Minister Shinde. On February 2nd and 3rd of this month, the Cabinet decided to call a two-day special session of the state legislature. Additionally, the assembly’s Speaker will be chosen tomorrow. The Kharif season, rainfall, and crop insurance in the state were also discussed by the Cabinet.

In his first cabinet meeting, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde reportedly emphasised the significance of moving on with the state’s developmental projects quickly and effectively. Devendra Fadnavis, the deputy chief minister, has experience, and Shri Shinde noted that having someone with his level of experience on his team will make it easier to manage the state’s numerous concerns, including its development initiatives.

The CM emphasised the importance of speeding up various developmental initiatives and compared the administration and the representatives of the people to the wheels of a chariot, saying they must cooperate to ensure fairness for all segments of society. He emphasised the significance of completing crucial projects for the Department of Water Resources, the Hindu Hriday Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray Maharashtra Samrudhi Highway, and the Metro in a timely manner. CM expressed his confidence that the administration will support his plan to execute the different projects in an effective and time-bound way at the meeting, which also included the state’s top officials.
