London, Nov 18 (AP) England captain Harry Kane scored a goal after being shown a yellow card as his team beat Malta 2-0 in the European Championship qualifying football tournament.
Bayern Munich striker Kane scored in the 75th minute and registered his name in the list of players who have scored goals in the eighth consecutive match for the club and the national team. Earlier, Malta’s Enrico Pepe had scored a suicide goal in the eighth minute.
The England team has already ensured top position in Group E.
This is the 62nd goal of Kane, who has scored the most goals for England, for the country.
Italy beat North Macedonia 5–2 in another match. Italy will need only a draw to advance when Ukraine host their match in Leverkusen, Germany on Monday.
