New Delhi, November 15 (Language) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday praised the ‘brilliant performance’ of the Indian cricket team to enter the World Cup final by defeating New Zealand.
Modi said on social media platform ‘X’, “India performed brilliantly and entered the final in great style. Excellent batting and good bowling ensured the match (win) for our team. All the best for the finals.”
He also praised Mohammed Shami’s bowling and said that cricket lovers will remember it for generations.
The Prime Minister said, “Today’s semi-final has become even more special because of the brilliant individual performances. Cricket lovers will remember Mohammed Shami’s bowling in this match and during the World Cup for generations to come. Shami played well.”
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also praised the Indian team for its win against New Zealand in the semi-finals, saying that the team has entered the final ‘like a boss’.
Shah also congratulated Virat Kohli for scoring his 50th century in an ODI and said it is a testament to his excellent sportsmanship, dedication and consistency.
