Bareilly (UP), November 11 (Language) One person got injured and died on Friday evening during a stampede due to a raid by seven policemen, including the outpost in-charge police sub-inspector, who arrived on the information of gambling in Sardarnagar police post area of Bareilly district. An FIR has been registered against a total of 10 people including policemen in the matter. A police officer gave this information on Saturday.
Bareilly Superintendent of Police (Rural) Mukesh Chandra Mishra said that late on Friday evening, on the complaint of Krishna Kumar Sharma, resident of village Alampur Jafrabad of Bhamaura police station area, ambulance driver Vijay, Sardar Nagar outpost in-charge (suspended) sub-inspector Tinku Kumar and Nepal Singh, An FIR has been registered under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code and other related sections against constables Deepak, Pushpendra Rana, Manoj, and Ankit and three unknown others for beating Santosh Kumar (46) to death.
Bareilly Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) had said on Friday that outpost in-charge Tinku Kumar, chief constables Pushpendra Rana and Manoj Kumar, constables Ankit Kumar, Deepak Kumar, Satyajit Singh and Mohit Kumar were booked for negligence and higher officials were informed about the incident. Has been suspended on charges of non-payment and indiscipline. The investigation of the case has been handed over to the Superintendent of Police (Rural).
