Meerut (UP), November 21 (Language) Four members of a gang involved in mobile phone theft were arrested here on Tuesday. Police gave this information.
Superintendent of Police (City) Piyush Kumar Singh said that Lisadi Gate Police has arrested Mehfooz, Shakib, Zahid and Zuhaib. He told that all the accused were members of a gang involved in stealing mobile phones.
According to the police, on October 26, the gang had stolen 19 iPhone parcel packets from Delhi Gate police station area of Meerut. A total of 88 mobiles and iPads worth approximately Rs 1 crore and a scooter without number plate have been recovered from the arrested accused.
Singh said that the stolen mobile phones were to be sold to people abroad. He said that efforts are on to arrest six other members of the gang.
