Jaipur, November 18 (Language) Union Minister Anurag Thakur on Saturday targeted Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and asked where was Kharge when crimes were being committed against women and Dalits in Rajasthan.
Actually, Kharge had attacked Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on the issue of Dalit oppression, on which Anurag Thakur retaliated by targeting Kharge.
Thakur said that Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi had given the slogan ‘I am a girl, I can fight’ but she did not come to Rajasthan on the incidents of crime against women. The BJP leader termed the Congress government in the state as ‘Gahlut’ government and accused the government of being involved in corruption. He said, “In the last five years, the ‘Gehlut government’ has been involved in large-scale corruption and the government has neglected many important issues. “From crimes against women to attacks on Scheduled Caste people, the state witnessed uncontrolled plunder of resources.”
He said, “The promises made by Congress leaders remained unfulfilled. Farmers were burdened with debt and women did not receive the support promised. The assurances given by the Congress party in Himachal and Karnataka have proved to be hollow.”
He said that the people of the state are disillusioned with the Gehlot government.
Thakur also questioned the authenticity of the guarantees given by Congress leaders in the state.
