General Pandey honored Army medal winners in Para Asian Games


New Delhi, November 3 (Language) Army Chief General Manoj Pandey on Friday honored the Army’s medal winners and other sportspersons for their excellent performance in the recently concluded 4th Para Asian Games in China.

At an event organized at the Manekshaw Center here, General Pandey interacted with 17 players and their supporting staff. These players took part in the games held in Hangzhou and performed brilliantly.

The Army said in a statement that 11 players from the Indian Army participated in the fourth Para Asian Games, out of which seven were medal winners. These include one gold, four silver and two bronze medals.

The Army said its contingent bettered its performance at the 3rd Para Asian Games in Jakarta (in 2018), where its players had won four medals (two silver and two bronze).

Officials said that Army para athletes are mainly trained at Army Paralympic Node (APN), Kirkee.

The fourth Para Asian Games were held in China from 22 to 28 October.
