Gold rose by Rs 540, silver rose by Rs 1,200.


New Delhi, November 17 (Language) Amid strong global cues, the price of gold in the bullion market of the national capital on Friday closed with a rise of Rs 540 at Rs 61,750 per 10 grams. HDFC Securities gave this information.

In the previous trading session, gold had closed at Rs 61,210 per 10 grams.

Silver price also jumped by Rs 1,200 to close at Rs 76,500 per kg.

Saumil Gandhi, senior analyst (commodities) at HDFC Securities, said gold prices were supported by a bullish trend in overseas markets.

In the global market, the price of gold rose to $ 1,984 an ounce. Silver also rose to $ 23.86 an ounce.

Gandhi said gold hit a new weekly high as signs of growing labor-market weakness in US macroeconomic data boosted expectations that the Federal Reserve will keep interest rates under control.
