Pudukottai (Tamil Nadu), November 20 (Language) Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi has approved the prosecution of former ministers C Vijayabhaskar and BV Raman in connection with the investigation of the Gutkha scam. State Law Minister S Regupathy gave this information on Monday.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is investigating the case.
Regupathy told reporters that with Governor Ravi’s approval, the CBI will file a charge sheet against All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK)’s Vijayabhaskar (then health minister) and Raman (then commercial taxes minister).
The Gutkha scam had rocked the state and then opposition party Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) had assured to ensure a fair investigation in the case after coming to power.
