Lahore, November 17 (Language) Khadija Shah, granddaughter of former Pakistan Army chief and leader of former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s party, was arrested again soon after her release from jail here on Friday. Khadija was arrested for her alleged involvement in the violence that took place on May 9.
Khadija, granddaughter of General Asif Nawaz Janjua and a fashion designer, was detained for a period of 30 days under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) Ordinance soon after her release from Kot Lakhpat Jail in Lahore, located in Punjab province.
Punjab Police said, “His release may lead to deterioration of law and order in the province.”
Shah was in jail for the last six months in connection with the attack on ‘Lahore Corps Commander House’. ‘Lahore Corps Commander House’ is a place owned by the son of former army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
At least 10,000 leaders and workers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) were arrested across the country on May 9 for allegedly attacking and arson on government institutions and military bases, including the army headquarters in Rawalpindi and the ISI building in Faisalabad city. I went.
The alleged attack by PTI workers followed the arrest of cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan in a corruption case by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
Shah had been granted bail in all four terror cases and on Friday the Lahore anti-terrorism court had ordered his immediate release.
However, as soon as Khadija came out of the jail, a large number of police forces reached outside the Kot Lakhpat jail and arrested her again citing the Public Order Ordinance.
Lahore Deputy Commissioner had issued an order to take Khadija into custody.
