Kolkata, November 10 (Language) The operating income of the defense sector government company Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Limited (GRSE) increased by 31 percent to Rs 1,654 crore in the first half of the current financial year.
The warship manufacturer earned pre-tax (PBT) Rs 209 crore in the April-September half, while profit after tax (PAT) stood at Rs 157 crore, up 45 per cent year-on-year, GRSE said in a statement on Friday.
The company said its earnings per share stood at Rs 13.74, up 45 percent from the same period last fiscal.
GRSE’s total earnings in the second quarter stood at Rs 969 crore, which was Rs 722 crore in the same period of the last financial year.
The company’s operating income increased by 32 percent to Rs 898 crore in the July-September quarter as against Rs 682 crore in the same quarter of the last financial year.
The company said that its profit before tax in the quarter under review was Rs 107 crore with a growth of 36 percent, which was Rs 79 crore in the same quarter of the last financial year.
Net profit increased by 37 percent to Rs 81 crore in the second quarter of 2023-24.
