Sawai Madhopur (Rajasthan), November 18 (Language) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Kirori Lal Meena has claimed that the Gurjar community in Rajasthan has ‘homecoming’ to the BJP because of its ‘senior leader’ Sachin Pilot. Congress betrayed him and did not make him the Chief Minister.
BJP candidate Meena, who is contesting against Congress candidate Danish Abrar from Sawai Madhopur seat in the assembly elections, also claimed that the Gurjar community is feeling ‘insulted’ because Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had abused Pilot.
Rajya Sabha member Meena, who is leading the campaign against the Gehlot government on corruption by the BJP on issues like exam question paper leak, claimed that there was ‘unprecedented corruption’ during the Congress rule in Rajasthan.
Meena alleged, “Corruption has increased so much that you would not have heard (anywhere) that Rs 2.30 crore in cash was found in a government office and one kilogram of gold was found in the cupboards.” This is unexpected and has not happened anywhere in the country. The officials along with the politicians have looted the state and collected a lot of black money.
In an interview with ‘PTI-Bhasha’, Meena refuted Congress’s allegation that the BJP-led central government misused the Enforcement Directorate and other government agencies for political purposes.
“There have been 16 examinations and question papers of all (in Rajasthan) were leaked,” he said. I have given evidence about the scam in Jal Jeevan Mission (in the state), I have given evidence about the scam in mining,……. I have given proof of corruption in Gehlot government. I had demanded a CBI inquiry into these matters.
He said, “The government did not get a CBI inquiry done, so the only way was to take action under PMLA against the black money collected and it is the ED which takes action under PMLA.”
Attacking Congress, Meena said, “ED had taken action before the elections. If you are not a thief then why are you scared and why are you making noise? There is no political angle in this.
He claimed that he had gone to Jaipur’s Ganpati Plaza where 1100 lockers contain black money and “so far the Income Tax Department has recovered Rs 36 crore and 22 kg of gold”.
“So I have simply drawn the attention of the government, be it the state government or the central government,” he said.
He cited the arrest of Rajasthan Public Service Commission member Babulal Katara, removal of the Chairman of Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education, arrest of four people of Rajiv Gandhi Study Circle to reject political vendetta against Congress.
Meena said, “You caught the fish but left the crocodile.” That’s why we had to go to the ED.”
Asked about his recent claim that the Gurjar community in Rajasthan would vote in favor of the BJP, he said he said so because they (Congress) had given the ticket to a senior leader of the Gurjar community (Sachin) Pilot in the last election. He had given assurance of making him the Chief Minister but he was betrayed.
The senior BJP leader said, “The Chief Minister of Rajasthan called him a ‘traitor’, ‘incompetent’, ‘useless’. This is why the Gurjar community is feeling insulted and is going to vote in favor of BJP on a large scale.
