Patna, November 20 (Language) In Lakhisarai district of Bihar, on Monday, in retaliation for unrequited love, a person opened fire indiscriminately, killing two members of a family in his neighborhood and injuring four others. The condition of three of the injured is said to be critical. Police gave this information.
The sound of bullets echoed in the Punjabi Mohalla area of Lakhisarai city when a family was returning home after offering Arghya to the rising sun at the ghat on the last day of Chhath festival.
Munger range Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Sanjay Kumar said, “The attacker has been identified as Ashish Choudhary, who lives across the road from the affected family.”
Lady Durga was injured in the attack while her two elder brothers Chandan and Raj Nandan were killed. His father Shashi Bhushan and sisters-in-law Preeti and Lovely are also injured.
DIG told ‘PTI-Bhasha’ over phone, “Chaudhary has fled from the spot and efforts are being made to nab him.” His two close friends are being interrogated. The weapon used in the attack has also been confiscated.
Some members of Durga’s family alleged in front of the media that Chaudhary was adamant on marrying Durga but they did not accept it because he (Chaudhary) belonged to a lower caste, hence they received threats from him (Chaudhary). Were staying.
However, the DIG said, “We are investigating the case from many aspects.” The local police has seized a notebook of Choudhary which has revealed some important clues.
The DIG said, “From the things written in the notebook and some recovered photographs, it appears that Durga had secretly married Chaudhary a few years ago and the woman had also lived with Chaudhary in his house for some time.” ‘
“According to Chaudhary’s notebook, Durga returned to her parents a few months ago due to increasing pressure,” he said. Later she went to Patna where she started working in a jewelery shop.
DIG said, “Chaudhary started suspecting that Durga was having an affair with another man.” He may have planned the attack under these circumstances. Once he is caught, a clear picture will emerge.
Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly and Lakhisarai MLA Vijay Kumar Sinha directly blamed the Nitish Kumar government of the state for this incident and alleged, “The woman’s family was receiving threats from the attacker for several days.” . But the local police failed to take action.”
“We fear that the administration may try to protect the real culprits and divert the investigation in a direction that will suit their political masters,” Sinha alleged.
