Scotts Valley (America), November 19 (AP) In California, America, a five-year-old child stabbed his twin brother, seriously injuring him, who later died. The officers provided this information.
The twins were fighting in Scotts Valley on Wednesday when one brother took a kitchen knife and stabbed his brother, according to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office. The injured child died in the hospital.
“Our hearts go out to the families of these two children and our thoughts are with them during this difficult time,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post Thursday.
Authorities said they do not plan to file criminal charges in the death.
“California law stipulates that age, criminal intent and an understanding of the harm caused by the wrongdoing are necessary factors for a child to be charged with a crime,” the Facebook post said. “Based on the current investigation there is no indication of negligence or criminal activity by any other party.”
Scotts Valley is approximately 89 kilometers south of San Francisco.
