In Thane, a person bought a smartphone online, but found a bar of soap.


Thane, November 13 (Language) A man in Maharashtra’s Thane district ordered a smartphone worth Rs 46,000 from an online shopping platform, but reportedly found three bars of soap in the parcel given to him. Police gave this information on Monday.

An officer from Bhayandar police station said it appeared that the victim’s parcel had been tampered with during delivery.

He told that the victim had ordered an iPhone worth Rs 46,000 from an online shopping platform.

Police quoted the complaint filed by the victim and said that when he opened the package, he found three bars of dishwashing soap in the mobile phone packet.

The police on Saturday registered a case under section 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against an unknown culprit, the official said. He said that the matter is being investigated.
