New Delhi, November 17 (Language) Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said that the Indian Patent Office has granted “maximum” 41,010 patents till November 15 in this financial year.
“This is a record,” Goyal wrote on social media platform ‘X’. Maximum number of patents were granted in 2023-24.
On this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that this is a “remarkable achievement”. This is a milestone in India’s journey towards an innovation-driven knowledge economy.
“India’s youth will greatly benefit from such progress,” he said.
The Prime Minister had recently said that the increase in patent applications in India reflects the growing innovative enthusiasm of the youth here. This is a very positive sign for the future.
According to the World Intellectual Property Organization report, there was a 31.6 percent increase in patent applications by Indians in 2022.
