New Delhi, November 17 (Language) Great batsman Gundappa Vishwanath believes that due to the excellent form of fast bowler Mohammed Shami, the Indian team will have the upper hand in the bowling department against Australia in the World Cup final and he wants captain Rohit Sharma. Convert your aggressive start into a century.
After registering 10 wins, India will face Australia in the final in Ahmedabad on Sunday.
Vishwanath told PTI, “Sometimes when you are not getting wickets, Shami comes and gets you wickets. See how many times he has taken a wicket on the first ball. Unfortunately Hardik Pandya got injured and Shami came in and took full advantage of the opportunity. ,
He said, “There is such beauty in Shami’s bowling that he moves fast and surprises the batsman. Talking about other bowlers, (Jasprit) Bumrah is Bumrah, his performance is good and Mohammad Siraj is getting better. ,
Vishwanath said, “Overall our bowling attack is more balanced than Australia’s, there is no doubt about that. ,
So does the Indian team have the upper hand in the bowling department? He said, “Yes, absolutely.” Two spinners (Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja) have also bowled brilliantly. They only have Adam Zampa. But against India, Zampa may struggle to take wickets. ,
Vishwanath (74 years) was a part of the Indian team during the 1975 and 1979 World Cups. He feels that Australia’s bowling is a bit inconsistent.
Vishwanath said, “If Mitchell Starc does not get his line and length from the first over, he will give away runs.” Pat Cummins is taking wickets but he is also giving away runs. ,
“Their only consistent bowler is Josh Hazlewood and he is a brilliant bowler. Zampa is also there to take wickets. Maxwell is doing well and yesterday Travis Head also took wickets. ,
He also said that Rohit’s aggressive batting is important. Rohit has scored 550 runs with one century and three half-centuries but he is often getting out after scoring around 40 runs after a good start and Vishwanath wants the opener to convert his start into a big score in the final.
He said, “The way Rohit is getting off to fast starts in the powerplay, although he is not able to score big scores like 100 runs. While other batsmen are following the same pattern. ,
