Fort Lauderhill, Nov. 11 (AP) Lionel Messi lifted his eighth Ballon d’Or trophy above his head and the entire sky was lit up with fireworks. This is how his football club Inter Miami celebrated the achievement of its star footballer.
Messi came to play a Major League football match against New York City FC on Friday. He won the Ballon d’Or trophy for the eighth time in Paris. Till now no player has been able to win this title more than five times.
Holding the trophy in his left hand, Messi walked to midfield where MLS Commissioner Don Garber was waiting for him. He hugged Garber, Inter Miami owners Jorge and José Mas. After this his victory was celebrated.
