IPS officer’s wife and cook cheated online of Rs 1.80 lakh: Delhi Police.


New Delhi, November 16 (Language) Cyber ​​criminals have allegedly cheated the wife and cook of an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of more than Rs 1.80 lakh in the national capital. Delhi Police gave this information on Thursday.

According to the police, an FIR has been registered against the accused under section 420 (fraud) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and investigation has been started. Police said the accused had identified himself to the victims as Rahul, the owner of a furniture shop in Bengaluru.

“On October 30, a person posing as a buyer on an online application committed cyber fraud on my wife and the cook,” the IPS officer said in his complaint.

Sources said that the complainant’s wife had placed an online advertisement for selling wooden items, for which the accused had called her.

The source said, “The accused defrauded Rs 1 lakh seven thousand from the woman’s bank account and Rs 80 thousand from the officer’s cook’s account.”

A complaint has been lodged on the National Cyber ​​Crime Reporting Portal, which has been sent to the New Delhi District Cyber ​​Crime Police Station.
