Khan Younis (Gaza Strip), November 7 (AP) The Israeli army said on Tuesday that its troops are now fighting Hamas in the “interiors” of Gaza City.
This is being seen as a new phase of the conflict as according to the Israeli army it is moving towards the headquarters of the Hamas extremist group.
Chief military spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari told reporters that Israeli troops “have now reached the interior of Gaza City, increasing pressure on Hamas”.
Earlier, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed that Israel was in the lead in the war and that the army had killed thousands of Hamas fighters.
