Issue-less BJP is in panic, could not release manifesto till date – Jairam Ramesh
Bilaspur – Former Union Minister and senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh says that whenever elections come, ED and CBI become active. Issue-less BJP wants to fight elections with their support. The same was done in Karnataka and the people there have responded. The same is being done in Chhattisgarh, now the people here are also going to respond. He said that we are asking for mandate on the basis of the guarantees we are giving to the public.
While discussing with journalists at Hotel East Park, Jairam Ramesh said that as soon as the elections come, BJP has only one agenda and that is polarization. All BJP leaders including the Prime Minister, Home Minister, Chief Ministers of UP and Assam work in the same language and on the same agenda. Because issue-less BJP is in panic and is in trouble. This is the reason that elections are after four days and till date she has not been able to release the manifesto.
On the other hand, there is the Congress government which has launched many revolutionary schemes for farmers, youth, women and businessmen in the last five years and people have also benefited from them. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said that Modiji talks about strengthening the federal structure. Whereas the reality is that the federal structure is under attack every day. Especially in those states where there is a non-BJP government. The state governments are not getting any support from the Centre. Whereas in Manmohan Singh’s government the states were never discriminated against. At that time there was BJP government in Chhattisgarh. We never stopped the budget of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, MNREGA or any other scheme.
On this occasion, he said that there is a big discussion going on in Chhattisgarh regarding the support price of paddy. The reality is that MSP is definitely announced by the Central Government. But the state government purchases the money from its own resources. Here in Chhattisgarh, Bhupesh government is buying at a price of Rs 600 more than the MSP. Not only this, earlier 15 quintals were purchased per acre, now purchase of 20 quintals per acre has started.
He said that we have placed 17 guarantees before the public. Which includes issues like purchase of 20 quintals of paddy per acre, loan waiver of farmers, subsidy of Rs 500 on gas cylinder, education from KG to PG. One of these guarantees has started from number one. Paddy procurement has started from number 1.
