Kolkata, November 21 (Language) ITC Limited, associated with various businesses, will open four new hotels in West Bengal. This will take the number of hotels in his state to nine.
The company will also set up its 18th manufacturing unit in the state in the near future, group chairman and managing director (CMD) Sanjeev Puri said at the seventh edition of the Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS) here on Tuesday.
However, he did not elaborate on ITC’s plans announced on Tuesday.
“We have 17 manufacturing units (in Bengal)…one more will be commissioned in the near future,” Puri said. We have five hotels in the state. “With time ITC is going to take it to nine.”
Puri said the major cigarette-to-soap manufacturing company has invested around Rs 7,000 crore in West Bengal in the last few years.
Meanwhile, Narayana Health Chairman Devi Prasad Shetty said that the company is planning to set up a 1,000-bed state-of-the-art hospital in Kolkata in the next two years.
Shetty said Narayana Health has earmarked Rs 1,000 crore for the project.
“It is my dream to build a super specialty hospital in this city,” he said here at BGBS. It will provide advanced heart care, cancer care and organ transplant facilities.”
RPSG Group Chairman Sanjiv Goenka said at the event that the group will also set up a world-class hospital in Kolkata. However, Goenka did not elaborate on the project.
Meanwhile, JK Paper managing director Harshpati Singhania said the JK Group will set up a dairy project at Vidyasagar Industrial Park in Kharagpur.
