Landmine explosion, CRPF inspector injured.


Raipur, November 7 (Language) An inspector of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has been injured in a landmine explosion in Naxal-affected Sukma district of Chhattisgarh. Officials gave this information on Tuesday.

The first phase of voting is being held today in 20 assembly constituencies including the Naxal-affected Bastar region of the state.

Inspector Srikanth of CRPF’s Cobra battalion was injured in a landmine explosion near Elmagunda village under Tondamarka camp in the district, police officials said.

He told that this morning, Cobra 206 and CRPF personnel had gone from Tondamarka towards Elmagunda village for the security of voting.

Officials said that during patrolling, Inspector Srikant of Cobra 206 stepped on a landmine laid by Naxalites, due to which it exploded.

He informed that first aid is being given to the injured security personnel.
