Mumbai, November 8 (Language) The Maharashtra government on Wednesday constituted an advisory board under the chairmanship of retired judge Dilip Bhosale to provide legal assistance on issues related to Maratha reservation.
A statement issued by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s office said the other members of the board are retired judges Maruti Gaikwad and Sandeep Shinde.
The Maratha community’s demand for reservation in government jobs and admissions in educational institutions has come up once again with the recent hunger strike by activist Manoj Jarange, after the apex court had earlier quashed the reservation given to the community by the state government.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Wednesday expressed unhappiness over the contradictory statements given by his cabinet colleagues on Maratha reservation and urged them to be careful on the emotive issue.
Sources said Shinde, while presiding over the state cabinet meeting here, conveyed his unhappiness to his cabinet colleagues.
