Bangkok, November 11 (AP) A military plane crashed on Saturday in Myanmar’s eastern state of Kayah. An army officer gave this information.
However, an ethnic group fighting against the army claimed to have shot down the plane. This claim of the group could not be confirmed.
A spokesman for the Karenni Nationalities Defense Force, an ethnic armed group, said it shot down a military plane during fighting near Loikaw, the capital of Kayah state.
Kaya State is also known as Karenni.
A Myanmar military official confirmed the plane’s crash. Also said that the reasons for the accident are being investigated.
On condition of anonymity, the official said that the search is on for the two pilots of the crashed plane.
