New Zealand Test cricketer Henry Nicholls accused of ball tampering


Wellington, Nov 10 (AP) Test batsman Henry Nicholls has been found guilty of ball tampering in a domestic cricket match this week and has been accused of breaching New Zealand Cricket’s code of conduct.

TV footage showed Nicholls scratching the ball during a Plunket Shield match between his Canterbury team and Auckland.

New Zealand Cricket said in a statement, “Nicholls has been charged under Section 1 of the Code of Conduct. Rule 3 of 15. 1 is accused of violation. He broke this rule during the Plunket Shield match.

No date for hearing has been set. Nicholls is part of the Kiwi team touring Bangladesh later this month.
