Patna, November 2 (Language) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday blamed its main constituent Congress for the halt in activity of the opposition alliance ‘Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance’ (India) and said that the country’s oldest party is currently He is interested in the assembly elections of five states and is not worried about taking the opposition front forward.
Top Janata Dal (United) leader Kumar also said during the “Remove BJP, Save the Country” rally organized by the Communist Party of India (CPI) that Congress itself will call all the opposition parties after the assembly elections are over.
In the presence of senior leaders like CPI general secretary D Raja, Bihar Chief Minister Kumar reminded that parties opposing the central government had come together to form a new alliance. He said there has not been much progress on that front in recent times and the Congress seems to be more interested in the assembly elections being held in five states.
Kumar said, “Not much work is being done right now, there are assembly elections in five states. Congress party is more interested in that. We all were working unitedly to grow it (India Alliance) by keeping the Congress Party at the forefront but they are not worried about all this. Currently engaged in elections in five states. When elections are held, we will automatically call everyone. There is no discussion happening right now.”
Kumar had hosted the first meeting of opposition leaders here in June. After this meeting, the atmosphere was ready for a new alliance.
In his address as Nitish Kumar left after addressing the rally, D Raja praised the role of JDU leader Nitish Kumar in bringing together the anti-BJP parties, resulting in the formation of the ‘India’ alliance.
Later, when asked about Nitish Kumar’s comments criticizing the Congress, Raja admitted that there were “difficulties in seat sharing” due to which constituents like JDU and Akhilesh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party had to field their candidates on those seats. Had to take off, where Congress is contesting elections.
“We have spoken to the Congress leadership and conveyed our view that being the largest party in India, it should realize its responsibility and be more generous towards junior allies,” the CPI leader said. However, problems in seat sharing are always inevitable in any alliance.
CPI leader Raja, however, also said, “These small differences have not tarnished our political vision of jointly fighting the BJP, ousting it from power and forming a secular and democratic government.” We will be successful in the next Lok Sabha elections.
He said, “It is clear in most of the surveys that the public mood is against the BJP. This mood of the public will be reflected in the results of the assembly elections and we will maintain the same momentum in the Lok Sabha elections also.
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav later addressed the rally and refrained from criticizing the Congress due to his father and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad’s personal equations with the Nehru-Gandhi family. However, he expressed hope, as Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had said an hour earlier, that the ‘India’ alliance would get fresh momentum after the assembly elections in five states are over.
No big leader of Congress participated in this rally. However, the party later issued a statement saying that Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee President Akhilesh Prasad Singh was out of Patna, so senior leader Kripanath Pathak was sent to the rally as a party representative.
The BJP alleged that Nitish Kumar’s comments about Congress were proof that the ‘India’ alliance has failed.
Former Bihar BJP president and current Union minister Nityanand Rai, in a statement, claimed that Kumar launched a front against the Congress after the JD(U) leader belatedly realized the mistake of leaving the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) last year. Have given.
The rally was also addressed by state level leaders of CPI(M) and CPI(ML) and a resolution was passed in this rally accusing the Narendra Modi government of posing a threat to democracy and the Constitution.
The resolution also alleged that the Modi government is not following the ideals adopted by Mahatma Gandhi and is engaged in glorifying individuals, an example of which is the “NaMo Bharat” train.
