Lucknow, November 13 (Language) Samajwadi Party (SP) Legislative Council member Swami Prasad Maurya, who was in the news for his controversial comments on ‘Shri Ramcharit Manas’ and ‘Badrinath’, is now surrounded by controversy by taunting Goddess Lakshmi.
Later he clarified this and said that his intention was not to hurt anyone’s sentiments, but to give respect to all the housewives.
Maurya worshiped his wife on the occasion of Diwali on Sunday and posted her pictures on the social media platform ‘X’. He wrote in the post, “While worshiping and honoring his wife on the occasion of Deepotsav, he said that every child born in every religion, caste, race, color and country of the whole world has two hands, two legs, two ears, two There is only a head, stomach and back along with eyes, a nose with two holes, a child with four hands, eight hands, ten hands, twenty hands and a thousand hands has not been born till date, then how can Lakshmi be born with four hands? ?”
He said, “If you want to worship Goddess Lakshmi, then worship and respect your wife, who is a goddess in the true sense, who is responsible for the nurture, happiness, prosperity, food and care of your family.” Performs it with great devotion.
When asked about this, Maurya told PTI, “I had done the same thing during the last Diwali and this time also I did the same.” I believe everyone has the freedom to celebrate the festival. I believe that in true sense the housewife is the Lakshmi of the house. Our culture also says that where women are respected, there is happiness and prosperity, that home is heaven, great people reside there.
He said, “If Lakshmi of the house is a housewife, then worship her, respect her, give importance to her.” This will increase the respect of women not only in India but all over the world. All women will feel proud and their importance will also increase. So, I have started this tradition by worshiping my wife.
Maurya said, “I have no intention of hurting anyone’s sentiments, rather I did this to give respect and dignity to all the housewives.” My understanding is that in the coming days everyone will start worshiping Goddess Lakshmi in their respective homes.
Defending his post on ‘X’, he said, “I have only done what is practical, true, scientific and eternal. I respect Sanatan Dharma. I stand by what I wrote in the post on ‘X’. I have written it thoughtfully.
Responding to Maurya’s post, Congress leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam told PTI, “Swami Prasad Maurya has been a minister in the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government. He is the National General Secretary of SP but he is continuously giving such statements which hurt the sentiments of Hindus. Seeing and hearing his statement, it seems that he is targeting Sanatan Dharma as per some agenda.
He said, “The statement given by Swami Prasad Maurya on Lakshmi ji has hurt our religious sentiments and he should apologize for it. I urge Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to ban the statements and speech of Swami Prasad Maurya. It seems that Swami Prasad Maurya has taken contract to destroy SP.
Regarding this comment of Pramod Krishnam, Swami Prasad Maurya said, “I respected Pramod Krishnam ji a lot. I thought he would be a knowledgeable and educated person but his language shows that he is not Sanatan Dharmi.
Swami Prasad Maurya, considered an important leader of Other Backward Classes in Uttar Pradesh, had joined SP from BJP just before the 2022 assembly elections. He has been in controversies before regarding his comments on Ramcharitmanas and Hindu temples.
Earlier this year, he had created another controversy by claiming that certain verses from the Hindu epic Shri Ramcharit Manas “insult” a large section of the society on the basis of caste. He had demanded a ban on these verses.
The Samajwadi Party (SP) leader had earlier claimed that before becoming a Hindu pilgrimage site in the eighth century, Badrinath used to be a Buddhist monastery.
BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia posted on social media platform ‘X’ regarding Maurya’s post, which hurts Hindu sentiments. Sometimes the earth is flat and the sun sets in the swamp, but still say something. Akhilesh will agree only after drowning Yadav’s loot. This is a demon in a human body. Akhilesh Yadav is silent. Is all this happening only on his orders?
Responding to Maurya’s statement, SP spokesperson IP Singh said on ‘X’, “When you were a cabinet minister in BJP for five years, you were afraid of making indecent remarks on Maa Lakshmi ji and Lord Ganesh ji.” Your daughter is an MP from Badaun. She calls herself Sanatani. Doesn’t miss any puja. At least you would have explained to your son and daughter.
“Stop harming the party,” he said. These are your personal views. This has nothing to do with Samajwadi Party. Samajwadi Party respects all religions. Mainpuri MP sister Dimple Yadav returned after visiting Baba Kedarnath ji on November 5. Samajwadi Party has full faith in Hindu religion.
