Lahore, November 18 (Language) Former Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and two members of the current federal caretaker cabinet were acquitted on Saturday in a major housing corruption scam.
Accountability Court Lahore Judge Ali Zulqarnain Awan acquitted Shehbaz, federal cabinet members Fawad Hasan Fawad and Ahad Khan Cheema and others in the ‘Aashina-e-Iqbal Housing Scheme’ corruption case on the report of the national anti-corruption body.
Shehbaz Sharif (72) is the younger brother of three-time Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor Waris Ali Janjua submitted a report on the interpretation of the Supreme Court’s recent order barring lower courts from passing final orders till the appeal against the verdict on amendments to the law is decided .
