Pawar criticizes politics on Ram temple consecration, blames ‘Manusmriti’ for inequality

Mumbai, November 6 (Language) Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) founder Sharad Pawar, targeting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), on Monday said that as the consecration of Ram temple in Ayodhya comes closer, politics in the country has intensified. And the people in power are presenting it to the public as the most important program.

Addressing a book release program here, Pawar said that it cannot be ignored that inequality in the society has increased due to the ancient scripture ‘Manusmriti’.

He said that it would not be an exaggeration if it is said that the ‘Varna’ system has harmed Hinduism.

He said, “At present, politics has started in the country on the temple (Ram). For this, efforts are being made in a planned manner to create public opinion. The dates for Ram Mandir (Pran Pratistha Ceremony) have been announced.

Pawar, a Rajya Sabha member, said there was no scope for complaint about the temple or people’s faith in Lord Ram.

He said, “But the people in power are presenting it to the public as if this is the most important thing. I think this is not fair.”

Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) chief Uddhav Thackeray also addressed the program. Thackeray said he has broken ties with BJP but not with Hindutva.

The former Chief Minister said that the BJP version of Hindutva is not acceptable to him.
