PML-N hints at alternative plan to make Nawaz Sharif prime minister for the fourth time

Islamabad, Nov 19 (PTI) A senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has indicated that it has already prepared an alternative plan which will pave the way for Nawaz Sharif to become the Prime Minister for a record fourth time.

He said that if there is any legal hurdle in it then the party will remove it when returned to power.

Voting is to be held in Pakistan on February 8 next year.

PML-N leader Sharif (73) returned home from London on October 21 after four years of self-exile.

Following his arrival, the Islamabad High Court has accepted his appeal against his conviction in the Avenfield Apartments and Al-Azizia corruption cases. He is on bail.

Moreover, the three-time Prime Minister faces disqualification from contesting elections till 2028, so he needs a ‘clean chit’ from the court.

PML-N Punjab chief Rana Sanaullah on Saturday said that if there are legal obstacles to Sharif’s fourth term, the party will remove them after coming to power, Express Tribune newspaper reported.
