Dhaka, November 3 (Language) Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina can inaugurate the second section of Line-6 of Dhaka Metro on Saturday. Official sources gave this information on Friday.
He said that this 9.53 km long section from Agargaon to Motijheel includes eight stations.
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is working as a consultant on the Dhaka Metro project (three lines) with varying levels of participation, a senior DMRC official had earlier said.
Sources said that apart from inaugurating the second section of Dhaka Metro, Hasina may also inaugurate the construction work of its Line-5.
On December 28 last year, Bangladesh launched its first metro rail service with the help of Japan to ease commuting in the capital Dhaka, one of the most congested cities in the world.
Hasina had inaugurated this project.
An official source told PTI, “Tomorrow (Saturday) the Prime Minister will inaugurate the second section of Line-6 of Dhaka Metro. This 9.53 km long section from Agargaon to Motijheel includes eight stations.”
