Meir, a resident of Odem in the Golan Heights, died on Friday. He was best known for his work on the award-winning Israeli television show ‘Fauda’, the third season of which was based on the Gaza Strip.
“We are saddened to announce that one of our ‘Fauda’ family members, Matan Meir, was killed in action in Gaza,” the post on X, the Israeli series’ official social media platform, said. The cast and production team members are saddened by this tragic loss. We express our condolences to Matan’s family and friends. may his soul rest in peace.”
‘Fauda’ actor Lior Raz praised Meir as a kind-hearted person, speaking to Israeli web portal ‘Vinet’. “I loved you, Matan,” he said. You were here for me every moment. You just wanted to help and be here for others.”
Mir was posted in the 697th battalion of the 551st brigade. Four soldiers of the battalion along with Mir were killed in the blast that took place on November 10.
