Multiple DRDO Industry-Academia Centers of Excellence, with a primary focus on Artificial Intelligence, have been set up nationwide, according to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.

He officially opened the Department of Defence Production’s inaugural symposium and exhibition on artificial intelligence in defence today in New Delhi. Mr. Singh noted that the Defense industry is making several efforts to promote apps that use artificial intelligence.

As part of the celebrations marking 75 years of independence, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, and to support the “Aatmanirbharta” effort in defence, 75 newly developed AI products and technologies with applications in defence were launched.

Automation, unmanned robotics, cyber security, human behaviour analysis, intelligent monitoring systems, logistics and supply chain management, speech and voice analysis, Command, Control, Communication, Computer and Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems, and Operational Data Analytics are the areas in which the products are used.

In addition to the 75 products that are being released, another 100 are reportedly in various stages of production, according to an AIR journalist.ucgpaper.com
