Mumbai, November 15 (Language) Former England captain Nasser Hussain praised captain Rohit Sharma for changing the culture of the Indian team by playing carefree cricket in the ongoing World Cup, calling him the real hero of the team.
The Indian team has performed brilliantly so far in the ongoing ODI World Cup and has won all its 10 matches. They reached the final for the first time in 12 years after defeating New Zealand by 70 runs in the first semi-final here on Wednesday.
Hussain told Sky Sports, “Tomorrow’s headlines will be about Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer and Mohammed Shami, but the real hero of the Indian team is Rohit Sharma, who has changed the culture of this Indian team.”
The Indian team has batted aggressively throughout the tournament and captain Rohit has created a great platform for the team by scoring explosive runs at the beginning of every match. Even in the semi-finals, he scored 47 runs in 29 balls with the help of four fours and as many sixes.
Hussain said, “I believe that the real hero of today is Rohit. Group stage and knockout stage matches are different and the captain showed that he is going to play carefree cricket even in the knockout stage. Rohit Sharma had sent a clear message with his attitude.
