Akola, November 21 (Language) A dispute between two groups over some issue led to a clash and stone pelting in Akola city of Maharashtra. The police gave this information on Tuesday.
Police said that the incident took place on Monday night at Bhimnagar and neighboring Kadri Pura Chowk under Akot Fail police station area. Security has been increased in the area after the incident.
Police said that 14 people from both sides have been booked for rioting.
An officer of Akot Phel police station said that an intoxicated man misbehaved with some people in Bhimnagar, increasing tension in the area.
The officer said that after the clash, both the groups pelted stones at some houses in the area. He said that after receiving information about the incident, personnel of Akot Fel police station reached the spot and controlled the situation.
The officer said that a case was registered against seven people each from both sides under rioting and other relevant provisions.
He said that a large number of police forces have been deployed in the area. At present the situation is under control. The police have appealed to the people not to believe the rumours.
