Suryakumar Yadav will lead India in the five-match T20 series against Australia.

New Delhi, November 20 (Language) Suryakumar Yadav was on Monday appointed the captain of the Indian team for the five-match T20 International series against Australia to be held in Visakhapatnam from November 23.

Opener Ruturaj Gaikwad will be the vice-captain of the host team for the series against Australia, which defeated India and became the world ODI champion.

India has selected only three players from the World Cup squad for the T20 series which include Prasidh Krishna, Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar.

Shreyas Iyer, however, will join the team for the last two T20 International matches to be held in Raipur and Bengaluru and he will play the role of vice-captain in place of Gaikwad.

The team is as follows:

Suryakumar Yadav, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ishan Kishan, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tilak Verma, Rinku Singh, Jitesh Sharma, Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, Shivam Dubey, Ravi Bishnoi, Arshdeep Singh, Prasidh Krishna, Avesh Khan and Mukesh Kumar.
