New Delhi, November 20 (Language) Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) on Monday said it has added captive projects of 1.4 GW capacity to its portfolio in the last six months.
The renewable energy company said in a statement that with the inclusion of captive projects developed for internal use, its total renewable capacity has increased to 7,961 MW by October 2023.
Projects comprising 3,755 MW in the company’s portfolio are at various stages of development. Its operating capacity of 4,206 MW includes 3,200 MW of solar projects and 1,006 MW of wind projects.
According to the statement, TPREL has added 1.4 GW capacity in group captive projects in the last six months (June-November). This has happened by signing power supply agreements (PDAs) with industries in different sectors.
TPREL, a subsidiary of Tata Power, has signed group captive projects with companies like Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Mukand Limited (a Bajaj Group company) and Sanyo Special Steel Manufacturing India Private Limited.
“This achievement reflects our shared journey towards a greener, more sustainable future,” said Deepesh Nanda, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), TPREL.
