Three people arrested in separate incidents of stone pelting on trains in Thane


Thane, November 9 (Language) Three people have been arrested in separate incidents of stone pelting on trains in Mumbai and Thane, Maharashtra. Two women were injured in these incidents. Police officials gave this information on Thursday.

Two people have been arrested for allegedly pelting stones at a CSMT-bound AC local train in Thane district on Thursday, an official said. A woman was injured in this incident.

He told that the AC suburban train was going from Mumbai Titwala towards CSMT. Stones were pelted at him during the morning rush hour on the train between Thakurli and Dombivali.

“A window of the train was damaged by stone pelting and a 28-year-old woman traveling in it was injured,” he said. “Two people have been arrested after examining the CCTV footage installed at the railway premises.”

Kurla Railway Police said that Mohan Namdev Kadam (45) was arrested on Thursday morning for pelting stones at Karjat fast local train and Latur Express.

He said, “The control room received information about stone pelting on Karjat fast local train between Nahur and Mulund and Latur Express between Thane and Mulund. Vaishnavi Salvi, who was traveling in the Karjat fast local, suffered injuries on her nose and was taken to the hospital.”

“Kadam was found wandering suspiciously near the tracks after which he was caught,” the officer said. He has admitted to pelting stones at trains.”
