Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh), November 21 (Language) Police have arrested two people in connection with the gang rape of a class 10 student in Bansgaon area of Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh. A police officer gave this information on Tuesday.
According to the police, the girl was returning from Chhath Puja with her family on Monday morning when two people from the area kidnapped her from the road and took her to an isolated house and gang-raped her.
Police said that when his 12-year-old brother realized that he was missing, he started searching for him and reached the spot.
He told that both the accused also beat up the brother and when he raised an alarm, the villagers reached the spot. However, by then the accused had fled.
Later, late on Monday evening, when the girl’s condition deteriorated due to excessive bleeding, the family informed the police and they took her to Bansgaon Community Health Centre, from where she was sent to the district hospital.
Police have registered a case against accused Deepak and Upendra under sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 376D (gang rape) of IPC and relevant sections of POCSO Act.
Superintendent of Police (North) Arun Kumar Singh told reporters on Tuesday that the police have arrested both the accused and sent them to jail.
According to the police, the girl has said in her statement that Deepak and Upendra spoiled her life and also said that when her younger brother came to save her, they beat her mercilessly.
