Kiev, November 7 (AP) An aide of Ukraine’s ‘Commander in Chief’ died when a grenade given as a gift exploded. The Home Minister gave this information.
Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said on Telegram that Major H. Chastiakov died in the tragic accident on Monday, while his 13-year-old son was seriously injured.
Klymenko said that on the 39th birthday of Chastyakov, a top aide and close friend of Commander in Chief General Valery Zaluginyi, a colleague had given him six new grenades as a gift.
He said Chastiakov was showing the grenade to his family at home when his son took one of the grenades and started rotating the ring inside it.
The Home Minister said, “Chastiakov took the grenade from his son and pulled the ring, causing a massive explosion. ,
Police are investigating the incident that took place in Chaiki village of Kiev region.
