Lucknow, November 18 (Language) Uttar Pradesh has received the best state award in the inland fisheries category. This award will be given during the Global Fisheries Conference 2023 to be held in Ahmedabad, Gujarat on November 21.
Special Secretary, Fisheries Department, Prashant Sharma said that Uttar Pradesh has won the best state award in the inland fisheries category. The award will be given during the Global Fisheries Conference 2023 to be held on November 21 in Ahmedabad.
Minister Sanjay Nishad told reporters at Lok Bhawan here that as per the intention of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the schemes of the Fisheries Department have been implemented at the ground level. As a result, there has been a significant increase in fish production in this state in the last six and a half years.
Nishad said that it is the result of the foresight of the Chief Minister of the state that the state has won the award for the best state in inland fisheries. He said that fish production last year was 8.09 lakh metric tonnes which has increased to 9.15 lakh metric tonnes this year.
